Please review the following classifications available for membership. This will help you in determining which membership classification best suits you.

 

Active membership is for those who are interested in department operations. You will be expected to respond to emergency events, training as well as other department events. There are multiple options for serving as an active member.

Active - Interior/Exterior: Must be at least 18 years of age. Responsible for providing firefighting services based on training level as well as rescue service such as but not limited to, motor vehicle accidents, water rescue, rope rescue, wildland search and rescue, wildland fires. Leadership roles are available in this classification.

Active - Rescue (EMS): Must be at least 18 years of age. Responsible for emergency medical services at emergency calls. Leadership roles are available in this classification.

Active - Fire Police: Must be at least 21 years of age. Responsible for controlling traffic at emergency scenes. Leadership roles are available in this classification.

Active - Restricted: Must be at least 16 years of age and not older than 18 years of age. This classification is meant for the younger member who is interested in the fire service and wants to participate with restrictions for safety. A parent consent form is required for this classification.

Junior: Must be at least 14 years of age and not older than 16 years of age. This classification is meant for younger individuals who are looking to gain experience and knowledge in the fire service. Juniors are allowed to participle in department training as well as other events. This knowledge helps for a transition to an active-restricted member. This a great opportunity for high-school individuals looking for volunteer hours and scholarships. A parent consent form is required for this classification.

Service: A service member must be at least 14 years of age. Service members assist in activities sponsored by or held by the corporation for fundraising, public relation events, parades, and emergency scenes for assistance directed by the chief while not providing firefighting and/or emergency medical services. Service members are also entitled to serve on department committees or in leadership roles on the business side of the corporation.
